Vascular Access

Vascular access is of vital importance for an adequate and effective dialysis treatment. The construction and maintenance of vascular access takes up approximately 20% to 25% of the global costs of the dialysis treatment. The resulting complications of vascular access problems are, without a doubt, the greatest cause of death amongst these patients, and one of the main reasons that conduct to hospitalization.
Aware of this reality - unsuitable dialysis, access or catheter infection, access thrombosis, mechanical complications with temporary catheters, amongst other possible problems - we have decided to include in our wide range of services the support in help in Vascular Access problem resolution, to NephroCare® patients and external institutions from Central and Southern regions of the Country. The work developed in this unit decisively contributes towards the maintenance and improvement of the dialysis patient quality of life.
