Peritoneal Catheters

As a result of their prime objective of years of research and the development of innovative products, Fresenius Medical Care developed a line of peritoneal catheters (paediatrics and adults) in order to respond to the necessities of all patients.

The peritoneal catheters allows for access to the peritoneal cavity. They are made of silicone and have a barium sulphate co-extruded strip, which can be viewed during X-ray.

There are different types of catheters for chronic use:

• Tenckhoff catheter;
• T. W. H. catheter with 2 perpendicular discs;
• Swan-Neck Missouri catheter (subcutaneous segment is curved 170 degrees).

The catheters sold by Fresenius Medical Care are delivered in packages composed of:

• Specific PD catheter;
• Catheter Adaptor Luer-Lock with Closure Cap;
• Screw Device.
